I love when WARRIOR WEDNESDAY basically writes itself. This week’s WARRIOR is a warrior through and through. Not just because he rushed to the scene of a horrific crime in progress, but also because he has been through a lot in his life and admits to mistakes, but is now doing what he has in his power to be a better man and a better citizen. And you know what? It’s working!! Our hats off to Charles Williams as this week’s WARRIOR WEDNESDAY! Charles was doing his part in The Doe Fund’s Ready Willing and Able program earlier this week, when he noticed people rushing out of a subway station screaming that someone was stabbing people. Rather than run the other way, Charles entered the station (risking his own safety mind you,) and with the help of another good samaritan subdued the still armed woman until police arrived. Charles doesn’t want to be called a hero, but he is just that, and he is an inspiration. See, Charles has a history. Who doesn’t? However, Charles made the decision that his history doesn’t define him as a person, and with the help of The Doe Fund’s Ready Willing and Able program, Charles has the chance to reinvent himself and is clearly on the right path today. We are proud of you Charles and we are proud to call you a WARRIOR! To learn more about The Doe Fund, visit www.doe.org.
